Incense Burner

This incense burner is one of those products that started with me simply wanting to make something interesting.

The challenge was to create a burner that looked different from the usual designs while still being practical and easy to manufacture. The result is a four-layer construction, precision cut from 2mm grained stainless steel and bolted together to create a raised, architectural form with a stable base.

The part I'm most proud of is the cantilevered design. By carefully designing the profile and assembly, the upper section appears to float above the base, giving it a clean, modern look while remaining incredibly sturdy.

As with many things since my brain tumour diagnosis, I've found making and designing things to be therapeutic. Sitting down with a sketch, refining an idea, and then seeing it become a real product is something that helps keep my mind focused on creating rather than cancer.
