I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.

One thing I've decided is that I want to finish every design I've started (within limits). I have folders full of ideas, sketches and half-finished projects, and I want to bring as many of them to life as I can.

The other thing that's really important to me is looking after the people who've been looking after us. So many of you have helped keep me going over the last year, and I want to give something back.

PAGE Incense Burner

This incense burner is one of those products that started with me simply wanting to make something interesting.

PAGE is the result: a four-layer construction, precision cut from 2mm grained stainless steel and bolted together to form a raised, architectural shape with a strong, stable base.

The layered design creates a subtle spine or binding detail, almost like the edge of a book, which is where the name PAGE comes from. It is a simple object, but with a more considered, sculptural feel — designed to look good when in use and when left out on display.

The part I'm most fond of is the cantilevered design. By carefully designing the profile and assembly, the upper section appears to float above the base, giving it a clean, modern look while remaining incredibly sturdy.

As with many things since my brain tumour diagnosis, I've found making and designing things to be therapeutic. Sitting down with a sketch, refining an idea, and then seeing it become a real product is something that helps keep my mind focused on creating rather than cancer.
