I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.

One thing I've decided is that I want to finish every design I've started (within limits). I have folders full of ideas, sketches and half-finished projects, and I want to bring as many of them to life as I can.

The other thing that's really important to me is looking after the people who've been looking after us. So many of you have helped keep me going over the last year, and I want to give something back.

I'm also changing how I launch new products. The first 15 people to order any new design will get it for £24.99 – half price. Those early orders will pay for the materials, and within three weeks (maximum) I'll have the first production batch ready to ship.

BIRDY Pendant Light

BIRDY is a lightweight pendant light inspired by the simple, elegant form of abstract wings. The aim was to create a design that feels sculptural and architectural while remaining practical and easy to manufacture.

Each pendant is built around a precision-cut stainless steel centre section, with the "wings" securely bolted into place to create a strong yet lightweight construction. Every detail has been designed to celebrate the materials and layered assembly.

To keep installation simple and reliable, BIRDY is supplied complete with the IKEA HAVSDJUP cord set. We chose this fitting because it's a well-designed, dependable solution that's readily available if it ever needs replacing. The cord set is available in black or white, features a 1.4m cable, and includes an interchangeable ceiling rose to suit your space.

Each BIRDY arrives fully assembled with the cord set already fitted, so it's ready to install straight out of the box.
