After my brain tumour diagnosis and surgery, seizures became part of everyday life. Some are obvious, some are subtle — a twitch in the face, speech disappearing mid sentence, confusion, stuttering, or simply going blank for a few seconds. The scary thing is that most people around you would never know what’s happening.
That’s exactly why I started wearing a medical alert bracelet.
At first, I honestly didn’t want to. In my head they were bulky, clinical looking things that made you feel like a patient before a person. But after a few seizure episodes out in public, hospital trips, and travelling abroad for treatment, I realised how important they actually are.
